When you're sentenced by the court to a period of probation, the expectation is that in almost all instances, you would be required to complete the entire period of probation. Unless the court were to state otherwise, say upon fulfillment of certain conditions of the sentence, the court may be inclined to allow that probation to be terminated early.
A court can do so, a judge can do so on his or her own. Of course, a defense attorney can try to make the judge or can request that the judge do so. If a person is on probation, and they're trying to get their probation terminated early, steps can be taken to try to have that be the case. It's a process, it needs to be done as effectively as possible. In most instances, you may have to complete the period of probation, but there definitely will be instances where it would be appropriate to seek an early termination of probation, and an experienced Pennsylvania criminal defense attorney can help you best understand and try to have that be the case.
