  • Pennsylvania Expungement Granted for Pharmacist

    April 2017

My client, "Robert," came to me because his criminal record involved domestic violence charges and was severely hindering his career in the medical field as a pharmacist. I explained his eligibility under Pennsylvania expungement law and also expressed potential concerns regarding the prospect of success without the need for a contested expungement hearing. As part of my strategy in achieving the best possible outcome, I advocated to the Chester County District Attorney's Office on Robert's behalf in advance of the Office making a decision regarding whether the Office would consent or object to the expungement petition. Ultimately, I was able to secure the agreement of the Chester County District Attorney's Office, and with their agreement, was able to have Robert's expungement granted. Read On

  • Philadelphia Detainer Lifted and Probation Continued

    December 2016

"Mark" was accused of violating his probation by the Philadelphia Probation Department due to a New Jersey domestic violence arrest. The Philadelphia Probation Department lodged a "detainer" and issued a bench warrant for Mark's arrest when he failed to report to the Philadelphia Probation Department to be taken into custody pending a violation of probation hearing. Mark was fearful of going back into custody and also had family and employment obligations that he was concerned about in light of the prospect of spending a significant amount of time in jail prior to the violation of probation even being addressed by the judge. In light of these concerns, and also with the goal to do whatever is possible to try to get a client the best possible result, I filed a motion with the Philadelphia Court to request that Mark's detainer be lifted and his bench warrant be vacated without him having to go into custody prior to a violation of probation hearing. After negotiating with the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office and explaining the reasons for my request to the judge, the judge granted our request and lifted Mark's detainer and vacated his bench warrant.
