Expungement of Protection from Abuse Case for Future Medical Doctor Granted

    June 2017

My client, Alex, sought an expungement of a Protection from Abuse (PFA) case with which he had been involved. Knowing the law, I explained to Alex that he was in fact eligible to pursue a PFA expungement. We petitioned Philadelphia Family Court and were successful in getting Alex's PFA records expunged so that Alex can continue on his path to becoming a medical doctor. Read On

    Pennsylvania Expungement Granted for Pharmacist

    April 2017

My client, "Robert," came to me because his criminal record involved domestic violence charges and was severely hindering his career in the medical field as a pharmacist. I explained his eligibility under Pennsylvania expungement law and also expressed potential concerns regarding the prospect of success without the need for a contested expungement hearing. As part of my strategy in achieving the best possible outcome, I advocated to the Chester County District Attorney's Office on Robert's behalf in advance of the Office making a decision regarding whether the Office would consent or object to the expungement petition. Ultimately, I was able to secure the agreement of the Chester County District Attorney's Office, and with their agreement, was able to have Robert's expungement granted. Read On

Philadelphia DUI Case Dismissed for Discovery Violation

    March 2017

My client was faced with a DUI charge in Philadelphia and had a prior criminal conviction. Although his case could not be resolved through a "first-time offender" program, we prepared to go to trial. Because of the Philadelphia District Attorney's to provide requested DUI checkpoint discovery, I was able to get my client's case dismissed. Read On

Petition for Early Parole Granted in Philadelphia

    June 2017

Despite several violations of probation which led to a custodial sentence prior to my involvement in the case, my client was released from jail after I filed a petition for early parole and secured the tacit agreement of the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office in advance of addressing the matter with the judge. Philadelphia Detainer Lifted and Probation Continued

    December 2016

"Mark" was accused of violating his probation by the Philadelphia Probation Department due to a New Jersey domestic violence arrest. The Philadelphia Probation Department lodged a "detainer" and issued a bench warrant for Mark's arrest when he failed to report to the Philadelphia Probation Department to be taken into custody pending a violation of probation hearing. Mark was fearful of going back into custody and also had family and employment obligations that he was concerned about in light of the prospect of spending a significant amount of time in jail prior to the violation of probation even being addressed by the judge. In light of these concerns, and also with the goal to do whatever is possible to try to get a client the best possible result, I filed a motion with the Philadelphia Court to request that Mark's detainer be lifted and his bench warrant be vacated without him having to go into custody prior to a violation of probation hearing. After negotiating with the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office and explaining the reasons for my request to the judge, the judge granted our request and lifted Mark's detainer and vacated his bench warrant.
